Aalto's house in Helsinki

The top picture is the back elevation of the house. The large window is his living room, which looks out onto a small, sloping lawn. There is a nice view beyond. The second picture is the living room. The third picture is the dining room. The fourth picture is the roof terrace. The last picture is his drafting table, where he created his fabulous designs. The house was also his office, so there as an interesting dynamic between the work areas and the family areas. In this work space, the interns were on the mezzanine, sharpening pencils. This was before cad monkeys.

I take no credit for the masterminding of this posting. John did the technical wizardry, and I just copy-pasted. Now, I'm a code monkey too. ech. This took me forever, so don't expect too much too quickly...

those are some hot pics. I'm an arch/urban design student in New York and working on a digi model of the Munkkiniemi house this semester. I was wondering if you have any more photos from your visit. I would be delighted to see them.
